The Mother of All Demos

A computer demonstration given by Douglas Engelbart in 1968 that lasted 90 minutes and showed of the oN-Line System (NLS). The demonstration showed, in most cases for the first time, the use of windows, hypertext, graphics, efficient navigation and command input, video conferencing, the computer mouse, word processing, dynamic file linking, revision control, and collaborative real-time editing.
